Support the Whiteaker Community Market
We’re honored to create a vibrant, inclusive, and diverse gathering space for emerging businesses to engage with customers and the local economy, network with other businesses, and thrive. Thanks to support from many incredible organizations and supporters in our community, we’re able to offer free special events on a monthly basis and provide families with assistance to purchase local food through various food equity programs. In 2024, we distributed a total of $21,712.90 worth of locally grown food to folks struggling with food security at $0 cost to them and full reimbursement to farmers.
We’re also proud to offer assistance that lowers the barriers to entry for emerging vendors via our Vendor Access Fund. Vendors who self-identify as BIPOC receive 50% of their booth fees waived, and vendors in need of assistance with vending equipment can reserve essential vending equipment completely free of charge for use at WCM events. In 2024, we waived $4,040.00 worth of booth fees for BIPOC Vendors, providing 216 subsidized vending opportunities throughout the season. We also provided 148 vendors with free vending equipment on Market Days including tent weights, tables, chairs, and canopies.
The Whiteaker Community Market only exists because people want it to. Seriously. Without the many talented, creative, and hardworking vendors who participate in our events and the lovely folks who show up and support them, we'd just be an empty name. Thank you for choosing to spend your time with us and support us.
